Hi Everyone!
We hope everyone enjoyed his or her weekend! We noticed that yesterday’s email
didn’t post, but the pictures did.
So at least you saw something about Monday!
Today we took a lot of extra time with all of our projects
and adventures :) For the first
project, the kiddos were taken over to a small table (outside) in pairs. We prepared dot markers for the kiddos
to use, as they decorated their very own paper crown-as it is Royalty
Week! Many of the kiddos explained
that the colorful dots on their paper were jewels and “pretty dots” :) After taking our very long time with
art, we went on a buggy ride to talk about royalty-related subjects.
On our buggy ride we talked about what a king is (i.e. “Is
the king a boy or girl”, “What does a king sometimes wear”, etc). That discussion led us into talking
about the crowns we decorated. We talked about what was on a crown-and what was
on their crown. Our students told
teachers who they thought wore crowns (including mom, dad and themselves-but
not teachers!:) Just before that
long discussion, we saw a man repairing the power lines (we thought)! The children told us that he was “so
high, and should be so careful” :)
Pretty funny to here in person!
A little ways down the road, and a new route as well, we came to a
bridge were the kiddos could see the water flowing underneath! We told the kiddos that sometimes we
build bridges over streams, creeks, rivers, and oceans in order to get where we
need to go. They were very
interested in our topic! After a long
buggy ride, we were ready to eat and nap!
We marched into our room, taking off our own shoes, and
putting them right into our shoe
bin :) While half of our friends
took a potty trip, the other half decorated colorful crowns with glue and
glitter to put over that glue!!!
If it dries by this afternoon, we may even be able to wear them outside
:) We will see though :)
We hope everyone is having a great day and driving
carefully. There is a lot of
traffic in some areas due to president Obama being in Oregon today!
